Yeah Yeah Yeah, I know your thinking why am I blogging about Mack Wilds for? Because I think dude is making dope Hip Hop influenced music hands down.
As you may know already Mack Wilds was one of the stars of HBO’s smasher “The Wire”, and and also starred in “90210”, but now Mack Wilds has now found the time to pursue one of his longtime dreams in making Hip Hop influenced music.
The Staten Island native is bringing back that raw soulful Hip Hop vibe from the 90s, when Mary J Blige was crowned the Queen of Hip Hop with her soulful lyrics over hard hitting Hip Hop beats.
This was also the norm from various RnB artists that featured on mix tapes in the 90s such as DJ Red Alert, Tony Touch, Doo Wop, DJ Clue, DJ Kayslay mix tapes.
Well Mack Wilds is doing this real well, so well Hip Hop producing legends have worked on his debut album such as DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Salaam Remi, and Havoc. These guys ain’t gonna work on just anyones record.
In an era of rapper/singer being one individual, Mac Wilds brings it back to basics, lacing real soulful vocal chords over gritty Hip Hop beats. His debut album “New York: A love story” also feature’s Hip Hop legends Method Man and Raekwon.
