Missy Elliot ft Timbaland – Triple Threat and 9th Inning

I guess you could say that the writing was on the wall for this one. Nevertheless, I will say it; “I told you so”.

As mentioned in my Missy Elliot and Timbaland post 2 weeks ago, “watch this space”, was the exact words I used, regarding the duo teaming up to drop an album.

Well, they haven’t dropped an album per se, but, they have just released two singles from a forthcoming album. The name of the album, to be released at some point this year, is unknown at this stage. But, I guess that will come to light sooner or later… More on that in a sec’.

What Has Missy Elliot and Timbaland Been Up to?

Because Missy Elliot has been out the of the game for a while, living off her royalty cheques and casting a beady eye over the hip hop landscape, and Timbaland, I could also asume, chilling on some tropical island somewhere plotting his revenge on Dr. Dre, trying to figure out how the EF did Dr. Dre make so much money on an headphones idea while basically doing sod-all musically, my feelings are that they need to create buzz and anticipation before setting a date and a release schedule.

Unfortunately, someone at Atlantic Records ruled against the idea of letting folks download the singles for free as a promo, instead opted to sell the singles via iTunes. And only the U.S store. FYI, Missy has some fans over here too!

So, if you know how to hide your IP and can figure out how to access the U.S iTunes store, you can go copp the singles “Triple Threat” and “9th Inning“. But for now, you can feast you ears around the singles in the video below, while watching paint dry… Sorry, I mean watching Missy [I think] play her record’s on a turn tabel. From different angles. Nice.

You can also check out Missy Elliot and Timbaland’s recorded UStream… stream or video from last night answering fans questions about the album and er…stuff!

Comments below please on what you reckon about the singles.

Till next time…
