Itch FM – Dedicated to Hip Hop
When I first heard 50 Cent, before he got signed, I thought “wow”! I assumed some folks thought the same in those early days.
His first album was dope and his second album was pretty decent too. After that, he started to sound…. well…. less hungry. I didn’t hear that punchy, gritty-ish I liked.
I didn’t feel his music had the same viciousness about it. So, I started to pay less attention to him.
I would hear bits and pieces about him, like when he’s in some war of words with a rapper or two. I put that down to 50 being 50, keeping himself in the forefront of peoples minds.
However, every time he released some music, I just felt it sounded a bit weak.
Lately, it seemed as if Fiddy was upping the ante by the number of artists he was targeting, and naturally thought he must be promoting something.
My curiosity got the better of me, and upon searching, I discover what Mr Cent was up to (intriguing..).
First, I find the “United Nations” video (see the first video below), nearly a week after it’s release (..and you call yourself a blogger!).
The vibe of this song got my ears prickling. Hmmmm, interesting…
Then, I found 50 Cents, latest free mixtape “Murder By Numbers“, and I have to say, it’s captured that old vibe I use to hear. More polished than the early mixtape days, but a similar vibe of his first and second LPs.
Here’s the kicker; “United Nations”, isn’t the only track I like too, their are others that has the ol’ Fiddy vibe in it…
“United Nations” is only one track, but the rest of the mixtape is pretty solid. He’s even got a couple of tracks for the ladies!
Give it a listen and make your own judgment, especially as he’s giving it away for free >> http://thisis50.co/1e6ar8 << (the link will automatically download).
In case you haven’t heard, 5o is coming out with Eminem on a new project. You can get a wind-up-son-of-a-blank-of-a-trailer for “My Life“, featuring Eminem and Adam Levine, below:
My opinion is (if you haven’t guessed it already), 50 Cents mixtape is quite a aiiight. Much better than I’ve heard in recent times.
We may be about to witness the old 50 Cent come back (I say with hope)!
What do you think, is 50 back, or should he just concentrate on his other business ventures?
