D&D Studios To Be Knocked Down

The iconic recording studio D&D Studios situated on 37th Street in New York was the launch pad for some of Hip Hop’s greatest albums to find their way on to the street.

This was the studio of choice for many of Hip Hop’s platinum 90’s Hip Hop artist such as Biggie, Nas, Jeru, KRS One, Big L,  Black Moon, Jay-Z, Foxy Brown Afu-Ra, Gangstarr, to name a few.

The studio was original founded by Douglas Grama and David Lotwin in the 1990s, but was later bought by legendary producer and DJ, DJ Premier.

Premier then renamed the studio HeadQCourterz in honor to his friend Kenneth “HeadQCourterz” Walker who was murdered in 2002.
