Shyne Po talks about Kendrick Lamar

Last week Kendrick Lamar released his new album “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City”, on Top Dawg, Aftermath and Interscope.

Where most of the hip hop fraternity from underground hip hop heads to trap music junkies, everyone is up on Kendric.

He’s refreshing and has some serious skills that is recognized by all.

We’ve been blogging about him for a while now, so you know that we pretty much rate Kendrick Lamar.

You can understand our shock (and horror) when we saw Shyne Po saying that Mr. Lamar’s album is trash!

For those of you that don’t know who Shyne Po is, he came to fame about a decade ago when he came out on P Diddy’s label Bad Boy Records, sounding a hell of a lot like Biggie.

Shortly after he started getting some heat, he was thrown in jail for a “serious altercation” at a night club. P Diddy was there. Some people got seriously hurt. Shyne went away for 10 years for attempted murder, assault, and reckless endangerment. P Diddly came out clean. J-Lo dumped Diddy…etc, etc. You get the picture.

I had to see what the fuss was all about and done a little digging.

First it started on Twitter, where the following argument occurred:

The result of this twitter argument between Schoolboy Q and Shyne Po got some immediate comments from The Game.

iHiphopmusic.com published an article about why Shyne Po says Kendrick Lamar’s album is trash.

Damn! Straight hating, huh? Or is it?

Wait! there’s more… Some may call it constructive criticism. As you will hear from his phone conversation with Cipha Sounds, Rosenberg and K Foxx from Hot 97, Shyne refers to the music as being trash:

As Shyne says, he is entitled to his opinion and he does say that Kendrick has the “potential” to make a classic album. Only Good Kid, M.A.A.D City isn’t it.

In this next video, Shyne addresses and still defends his comments:

What do you reckon, does Shyne Po have a valid point, or is he just seeking attention? Comments below, please!
