Drake - Views From The Six

Its finally here, the most anticipated album of 2016 has landed,  Drake – Views From The Six. but was it worth the wait?

Torontos finest export Drake drops his fourth studio album “Views From The Six”. The whole world has been waiting for this and i am more than happy to say it really, really is good! It takes quite a lot music wise to really get me hyped up. That said if you caught my Saturday morning show on Itch Fm. You would have heard how seriously and genuinely excited i was about this album. I played and reloaded “Hype” around ten times on my show, YES, it really is that good.

Twenty tracks in length and coming in at just over an hour and twenty minutes long. Drake really has put the work in here and delivered a quality well rounded album. Featuring guest spots from: Rhianna, Future, Pimp C, Wiz Kid and Jay-Z passing through with one of the shortest guest spots ever on “Pop Style”.

Giving us really what are the two sides to Drake, the soft loved up smooth guy for the ladies. Then the harder, rawer, straight spitting Drake which the HipHop heads love. Now this is always met with mixed reactions, myself included its hard to hear a hard HipHop track like “Hype” then next your listening to the soft, loved up sounds of “Too Good” with Rhianna. That said though think back to LL Cool J he was one of the first to strike the perfect balance between the hard MC with bars for days, into the smooth guy with chat up lines and more game than Sega for the ladies. So Drake although he does this really well, he wasn’t the first in hiphop to bring the two worlds together.

So far the album has been met with critics for and against “Views From The Six”. Even heavy weight radio DJs who usually go way above and beyond with their support for Drake, have been less than reserved about there dislike for Drake being to “Moist” (to soft, girly) on this new album. The good news is that no matter what Drake you like and love it will be represented here. A perfect balance of soft loved up tunes, great guest spots, then some seriously hard hiphop. “Views From The Six” was worth the wait and 100% ticks all the right boxes as one of the best HipHop albums of 2016 so far.
