Itch FM – Dedicated to Hip Hop
Some amazing hip hop was released in 2003. Nasir Jones – Made you look, taken off his sixth studio album ‘God’s Son’. Task Force put out Music From The Corner: Volume 2 (which should not be slept on, including Volume 1, 3 and 4).
Also on the 18th August, Brighton based record label Zebra Traffic dropped the brilliant album ‘Spaz The World’ by Nottingham artist Cappo.
In my opinion this album is one of the most stand out hip hop albums to date.
This guy has such a unique style and flow it really draws in your attention.
You end up getting lost in the lyrics as each line is delivered so clearly and confidently over the craziest beats.
It’s a killer debut and ten years old that still stands. No Questions.
One of the songs to come out on 12” was track number 4, ‘Grand Final‘ . You can really hear how Cappo captivates his audience with his imaginative and original lyrics and great story telling.
This, teamed with pretty special P brothers production, a smooth instrumental with a sped up vocal sample and a nice sounding drum beat gives the record its timeless value.
This is one for the collection, so if you haven’t been introduced to this yet, or Spaz The World, Listen.
P Brothers and Cappo we salute you.
