That was my first thoughts when I saw this image of The Doctors Orders second instalment of Spin Doctors‘ monthly Cover Up series.
What you’re going to get here is over an hours worth of covers. And no, not the cheesy kind!
The Cover Up is a series of mixes by Spin Doctor consisting of all cover versions of tunes you know and love re-interpreted and re-played.
These first two mixes are freestyle blends of Soul, Reggae, Disco, Hip-Hop and beyond. With special mixes dedicated to Motown, Reggae, The Beatles & Hip-Hop planned this series is sure to grow with popularity!
Spin Doctor explains…
“I have been collecting covers for a minute now and decided to start putting together this series of The Cover Up mixes. I am always looking for versions that offer something different to the original or, that on that all too rare occasion, improve on the original.”
Personally, I like the reggae version of ODB’s “Shimmy Shimmy Ya“.
