Who remembers Big L – Put It On? This track was when hip hop was an art form and every lyric was an exercise in skill.
A lot of the throwaway artists you have today, that are [lets face it] here today and gone tomorrow (even though I have to admit some of the beats they use are infectious) wouldn’t have a chance.
Big Pun, Biggie, Tupac and Big L would have, I feel, dominated the hip hop charts.
But, hey, times change and things have to move on.
